The Department of Post (India Post) has officially released the India Post GDS 5th Merit List 2025 for the recruitment of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) across various postal circles. This recruitment cycle, specifically for the Schedule I January 2025 notification, aims to fill a total of 21,413 vacancies. Candidates who applied between February and March 2025 can now access the result portal to check their selection status for the 5th round of counseling.

Overview of Recruitment

The selection for India Post GDS posts is strictly based on the merit of the candidates' 10th-grade marks. There is no written examination for these positions. The eligibility criteria required candidates to have passed Class 10 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects, alongside proficiency in the local language of the applied circle. The 5th merit list includes candidates who have been shortlisted for the next phase of Document Verification (DV).

Salary and Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates for the GDS posts (including BPM and ABPM) will receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹12,000 to ₹30,000. The selection process involves the generation of an automated merit list followed by physical document verification and medical examination. Candidates are advised to download their scorecard and intimation letter from the official website @indiapostgdsonline.gov.in and report to the designated divisional head for verification before the deadline.
