The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) have officially declared the results for the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2025. Candidates who appeared for the entrance examination conducted on June 22, 2025, can now download their scorecards from the official website, nestexam.in. The result was announced on July 10, 2025, following the successful completion of the computer-based test.

NEST 2025 Admission Overview

NEST is a mandatory competitive examination for students seeking admission into the prestigious five-year Integrated M.Sc. program in basic sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics). Candidates who qualify the exam based on the Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) will be eligible for the counseling process. The MAP for the General category is set at 95 percentile, while for OBC it is 90 percentile, and for SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is 75 percentile.

Eligibility and Application Details

To be eligible, candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination in the science stream with at least 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD). The application fee for the 2025 cycle was ₹1400 for General/OBC/EWS male candidates and ₹700 for Female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Admission is strictly based on the merit list prepared from the NEST 2025 scores. Qualified students are also eligible for the DISHA scholarship by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
