The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced the upcoming written examination for the Indian Railways Section Controller Recruitment 2026, targeting an impressive 368 posts. Aspiring candidates who successfully submitted their applications can mark their calendars for the examination, scheduled for 11th and 12th February 2026. The highly anticipated RRB Section Controller Admit Card 2026 is expected to be released in February 2026 on the official website, indianrailways.gov.in.

This recruitment drive, initially notified on 22nd August 2025, opened its application window from 15th September 2025, with the last date to apply and pay fees being 14th October 2025. Candidates are advised to keep their application number and date of birth handy, as these will be crucial for downloading their admit cards and exam city intimation slips. The selection process for these coveted positions includes a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Skill Test (if applicable), Document Verification, Medical Examination, and finally, a merit-based selection list.

Eligibility for the Section Controller posts requires a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution in India. The age limit for applicants is set between a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 33 years as of 01st January 2025, with age relaxations applicable as per government norms. Application fees vary by category: ₹500/- for General, EWS, and OBC candidates, and a reduced fee of ₹250/- for SC, ST, PH, and all female candidates. A correction charge of ₹250/- also applies if amendments are needed.

The examination will be an online CBT with a duration of 120 minutes, comprising 100 questions for 100 marks. It includes sections on Analytical and Mathematical Capability, Logical Capability, and Mental Reasoning. A negative marking of ⅓ marks for each incorrect answer will be implemented, making accuracy vital. The salary structure for the Railway Section Controller ranges from ₹35,400 to ₹44,900/- per month, along with various allowances such as HRA, DA, and TA.
